This isnt interesting; nor is it educational...By Tiffany HolleyDear publisher - reading the text across a block of red patterned image (is that supposed to be blood? cells? or ???) is very wearying on the eyes. Please choose something with a lower eye-strain factor. This book is a random; disjointed collection of images; along with some panels of text about the human body. It has a distinct feeling of "random science trivia" rather than "learning" anything. The reading level and appropriate grade level of the information presented also seem highly varied and inconsistent.Basically; it leaves you feeling like youve just flipped through a shuffled deck of cards - no rhyme or reason to it at all.So; the book is maybe interesting enough to look through and see the photos although most seem to be generic stock photo images) and read the facts (some are interesting); but its really just not a "read" at all. For free; you can easily grab the Kindle edition (like I did); to have a look and enjoy the casual browse. But I definitely cant see a reason to spend your hard-earned cash if the price were increased. Its not even in the same league as a true educational resource.I am obligated to add the disclaimer that "I received this product free in exchange for agreeing to provide a review" which is pretty silly; given that it is already free for everyone... Obviously; that has not compelled me to write a falsely positive review. Unfortunately; this same review refers to all three volumes in this series.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. The Human Body in Color is a great study material for Anatomy and Physiology!By ShellBeeI guess I should clarify... My 19 year old daughter loves the Human Body in Color. Shes applying for a Radiology program and is currently taking Anatomy and Physiology I and II along with the 2nd lab. She had a 92 in the first half of the course before the final exam and did so poorly that it brought her final grade to a 74. In a competitive program; that grade will not get you in. I watched how hard she studied for the final and with none of her semester test grades falling lower than a B; she was heart broken. She knew she failed the moment she turned it in because she didnt recognize any of the questions. I wanted to contact the college but she asked me to stay out of it and decided she would just retake the class. She has As in all 3 classes right now and I will speaking up if she gets a 48 on her final the 2nd time. So back to the Human Body e-book. I read some of the reviews that this is designed for a child. I can see that The Human Body in Color is not inappropriate for younger children; but I think its more of a study aid for those who need to know all the information in this book. My daughter who is taking Biology 2120 and 2130 needs to know all of this information. I downloaded this to our Kindle App and asked her if it would help her; and she said "I need that!". There are pictures; diagrams and definitions that will serve more like flash cards. It covers the circulatory system along with its functions. Some of the other items covered are the endocrine system; muscular system; and muscle types. You cant go wrong with this e-book if you are looking for additional study materials other than your notes and your textbook.I received a copy of The Human Body In Color for a honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Fantastic Anatomy Book! Easy to read and use by anyone!By Nicholas Hodges9/10 Very impressive book! I would recommend for anyone with a desire to learn more about the human body. I am currently working on my doctorate and have already taken my anatomy courses. Because of that I can confirm that this book is accurate; very detailed; and relevant. Itrsquo;s not an end all be all anatomy atlas but it has some useful and vital information that a child or someone working on their doctorate could use. While the pictures are not super detailed and precise to a T; the pictures are very simple; clear; and concise. Itrsquo;s not hard to envision these pictures in the body; and thatrsquo;s one of the more important things to do when trying to learn the anatomy. It is easy to read and gives the reader factual and accurate information enabling them to gain a better understanding of the body. There are several grammatical and formatting errors throughout the book. Hopefully the editor catches them for the next volume. The font is very thick and hard to read against the blood colored backdrop. I think that the backdrop is a little heavy and as it gets darker towards the bottom of the screen it becomes harder to read. Also the text seems to either be very spaced out or reallyclosetogetheranditshardtoreadwhattheyaresaying. This makes it especially more confusing when we are talking about medical vocabulary. While I would not buy this and use this as my only atlas for an anatomy class; this book is a great reference for both children and adults trying to learn more about the human body.I received this book at a discount for my open; honest; and unbiased review of this book.
