It hadnt always been so; right from the beginning; when her parents distanced themselves and left her and her siblings with a series of relatives. The ups and downs of her early singing career with her beloved sister are described; leading up to her success as a singing star and actress. Her turbulent marriages to actor Joseacute; Ferrer are examined in unflinching detail as is her drug addiction and nervous breakdown. She pulls no punches talking about the low points in her life and the seemingly endless bad choices she made; but the book ends on a high note with a career comeback and a happy new marriage. This is a very readable book; hard to put down. Its full of stories and photos of her Hollywood friends; her lovers; and her family that she treasured. Highly recommended.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great book; loved every page!By Lisa K.; Union; KYTold from the heart; you feel like youre getting to know the true Rosemary. Full of lots of great stories about her relationships with Hollywood stars and singers like Sinatra; Ella; Dean Martin; Bing Crosby and many more. The tales of her childhood; her marriage to Ferrer and her breakdown are so honest; and you come away with an understanding of why her life went the way it did. At the end of the book I wanted to give her a hug; and am so disappointed that Ill never have the chance to see her in concert. If youre a fan of her movies or music; or even of the big band era; you will love this book.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Most enjoyable.By F. ArthurWell documented chronicle of Rosies life. Much of which was not all that "rosy". As one who grew up watching she and sister Betty on WLW-TV in Cincinnati; I remember and identify with many of the places and personalities mentioned early on in the book. Still enjoy some of her later recordings on Concord and feel they were among her best performances. The book is both happy and sad; upbeat and down but overall; well worth the read.
