Much of the book referred to whiting; Indiana. I would have liked to see more attention paid to Chicago Slovak organizations; and some long-established Slovak organizations were overlooked. There were some Chicago priests who did much; a Slovak community that established a Slovak cemetery Our Lady of Sorrows with statues in tribute to Sts. Cyril and Methodius; a group of Slovak nuns in Tinley Park; and there were Slovak Days held at a Slovak grove in Lemont; IL; which did not get coverage. Judy Baar Topinka; mentioned in the book; even made her last public appearance with a beloved Chicago group. The Slovak churches showed familiar places where my Slovak grandparents settled and formed friendships with other Slovaks. This collection represents a rare account of local Slovak history; much appreciated by this 100% Slovak descendant.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. I havent seen it yet; but she did comment that there was more material about surrounding areas than one would have thought from the synopsis on the product page.
