(for me at least)Boyds method involves two basic voicing options for each chord which makes it very easy to get from chord to chord and really get that "jazz sound". The explanations are clear and concise with examples to apply what is covered at each step. As an intermediate player with strong chord and theory knowledge I find everything in this book easily within my reach and I can apply everything in the book to real book charts immediately which is very rewarding. I personally have found other books; which are excellent works full of information; to be much much less "user friendly" whereas this book just makes sense to me. Two thumbs up; 5 stars; excellent value.
