Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Kunst - Malerei; Note: 1;0; Freie Universitauml;t Berlin; Veranstaltung: PS Chinesische Malerei - Werkimmanente Analyse; 10 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis; Sprache: Deutsch; Abstract: Bereits im Altertum war in China die Natur Gegenstand aufmerksamer Beobachtungen. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Lauml;ndern; in denen das Maszlig; aller Dinge der Mensch war; uuml;ber dessen Bild Lebensempfindungen und Vorstellungen von der Welt wiedergegeben wurden; avancierte im Reich der Mitte; geprauml;gt von ausgedehnten Berg- und Flusslandschaften die Natur zum Gegenstand religiouml;ser Verehrung und philosophischen Erfassens. Beeinflusst von der Beziehung zur Natur wie zu einem riesigen Kosmos; von dem der Mensch ein kleiner Teil ist; bildete sich das kuuml;nstlerische Bewusstsein in China heraus. Das Handeln des Menschen und seine geistige Tauml;tigkeit wurden an der Natur gemessen. Die Wechselbeziehung zwischen Mensch und Natur entwickelte sich zu einem komplizierten; genau ausgearbeiteten auml;sthetischen System. Infolge der Entdeckung des auml;sthetischen Wertes der Natur; entstand in China ein rauml;umliches Denken; welches nicht von der Zentralperspektive bestimmt wurde; aber viel fruuml;her als in anderen Lauml;ndern die Herausbildung des selbststauml;ndigen Genres der Landschaftsmalerei bewirkte; das viele Jahrhunderte lang im kuuml;nstlerischen Leben der Gesellschaft fuuml;hrend war. Die chinesischen Landschaftskompositionen wurden von der Luftperspektive (Vogelperspektive) bestimmt. Es fehlt ein einheitlicher Ausgangspunkt; der Raum dehnt sich gleichsam nach oben aus. Die Berggipfel; die man aus der Vogelperspektive sieht; streben in den Himmel; die Menschen; Huuml;tten und Waldpfade verlieren sich in den Weiten der Natur. Exemplarisch ist Chang Hungs Bild bdquo;Clearing after Snow on the Ling-yen Hillsldquo;. Die chinesische Landschaftsdarstellung; bdquo;shanshuildquo; (Berge und Gewauml;sser) genannt; ist ihrem Wesen nach symbolisch und trachtet danach; die Einheit und Unendlichkeit des Universums wiederzugeben. Die Beobachtungen der charakteristischsten Besonderheiten der chinesischen Landschaft wurden verallgemeinert und synthetisiert. Aus diesem Grund waren die chinesischen Bilder keine naturgetreuen Abbildungen der Natur. Ihr ganzer kompositioneller Aufbau und die Besonderheiten der Perspektive sollten erreichen; dass sich der Mensch beim Betrachten des Bildes nicht als Mittelpunkt des Weltalls; sondern als kleinstes; dessen Gesetzen unterliegendes Teilchen fuuml;hlte. Inwieweit Chang Hung in seinem Bild bdquo;Clearing after Snow on the Ling-yen Hillsldquo; diesen technischen Gestaltungsmitteln Rechnung trauml;gt und ob er den philosophischen Gedanken wiederspiegelt; ist die Fragestellung meiner Analyse.

The dark of the alley; the break of day.By Jason SteinI believe I heard about Kings of Leon back in 2003 when their debut; "Youth and Young Manhood" was released. I believe I listened to the sound samples; and I believe I did not hear anything promising. Kings of Leon faded from my memory.Last year; I saw the buzz around the band; but it wasnt until I heard "Sex on Fire" that I revisited the band. What I heard made me buy the cd. After listening to the disc all week long; I formulated my review.In terms of sound; they do remind me of U2; Coldplay and Radiohead; but primarily U2 due to the bands soaring guitars and melodies. They also remind me of Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Black Crowes. Put them in a blender; and you have Kings of Leon. I know "Only By The Night" is different from the bands first two releases which were much more organic and southern-fried.I like the technological treatments to their down home southern sound. It makes for an interesting mix. The band draws you in with "Closer" and "Crawl" and then punches you to the left with "Sex on Fire" and then to the right with "Use Somebody" and a final knockdown blow with "Manhattan".Things mellow out with "Revelry"; and the southern roots take hold for mid-tempo rockers "17" and "Notion". I liked the stuttering mellowness of "I Want You" followed by the charging U2-ish "Be Somebody" and then the sobering closer "Cold Desert"."Sex on Fire" and "Use Somebody" were perfect choices for singles; but Id add "Manhattan" and "Be Somebody".Although the Followill clan may have lost some fans with their last release and now "Only By The Night"; I find them moving in a unique direction; with great promise in the future. Caleb has a great Joe Cocker-ish voice; unique in this day and age of fluffy; nondescript and bland singers of today.As this is my first Kings of Leon album (I have ordered the other three); I cannot compare it to the bands previous work. As a stand alone; compared to other artists Ive been listening to; I give "Only By The Night" four stars; with just enough room to really hit the big time.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. personal favoriteBy GwenThis is probably the fourth copy of this CD Ive purchased. Something always ends up happening to it and I replace it. I am a huge fan of KoL and particularly of this album.
