I especially like the chapters about her childhood and early years in Paris.7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Amazing memoir by inventor of the moviesBy Art loverThis woman invented the movies in paris in 187something. She was a secretary at a famous photostudio. Her short films became very successful. She went to the us in the early 20 century and founded her OWN movie production company in fort lee; just accross from manhattan. For a couple of years she was the most successful woman in the us. When the movies went to hollywood in 1915... she did not quite make the transition and after a divorce from her husband ( who was a cameraman turned director) she went back to france. A forgotten part of film hisory and an amusing must read.
