BurroughsI bought this book for my daughter to learn accompaniment for a hard-to-find song she likes to sing; so keep in mind Im passing along second-hand feedback (disclaimer). I couldnt find sheet-music anywhere; so this book was the only option we had. My daughter was very happy to get it; though she would have been happier with the full score. She liked the way each song has a little diagram at the top not only saying what chords are used; but also showing a little finger layout chart (shes a low-intermediate player). She quickly memorized the song and chords; though she complained they were a bit simplistic compared to the full-score version sang by the original band and she quickly added a few "frills" of her own to dress it up. After her little concert; she went on to memorize several more songs out of this book.Overall; this book is what it is; an affordable way for a recreational guitarist to learn the words and chords to a bunch of hard-to-find; popular rock songs at a very low price. For the pittance it cost me for this book versus the full scores; I am quite pleased. Although I dont play myself; I get to hum along to the dozen-or-so songs shes taken a liking to and memorized out of the 40+ songs in this book. If you are an advanced guitarist or looking for a book that has intricate long-solos; I suggest you look elsewhere (and pay considerably more) for the full score. On the other hand; if you want a cheap and simple way to learn a bunch of sing-along songs for your next party or camping trip; this book is definitely worth the price.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Good; inexpensive way to get lots of songsBy A. BurroughsI purchased this book for my daughter after a pleasant experience with the first book in the series to get the hard-to-find song "Your Ghost." As in the first one; each song has the words; the chords; and a nifty little chart at the beginning that shows not only what chords are used; but also a little finger-chart. It does NOT have full musical scores in it; only words and chords; so you really have to know how the song goes to play well. However; most people will already know these songs. My low-intermediate level guitar playing daughter was able to master several songs relatively quickly (relative meaning after a few days practice) sufficiently well for her friends to sing along as she strummed. As in the first book; she stated she would have preferred full musical scores as there are no fancy guitar solos in this book; but since that was not available for the song she wanted this book provided a cheap alternative to get the "bones" and she added a couple of frills to dress things up.Overall; this book is what it is ... a cheap way to obtain 40+ popular singalong songs to strum on your guitar at your next camping trip or party so your friends can sing along and you can be their hero. If you are an advanced guitar player or play professionally; invest in the full score. But if you are looking for a cheap way to learn the background music for a large number of singalongs; this book is a bargain.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. ... to choose from and playing the specific chords is easy.By Brenda CampbellThis particular book gave me a wide variety of songs to choose from and playing the specific chords is easy.
