A most excellent bookBy David ArbogastThe thesis of this book is clearly stated - the examination of the material evidence in relation to the archival and; in this case; theological evidence for the early history of the Anglican Church in South Carolina. No (grave)stone or chalice or pulpit is left unexamined and Mr. Nelson is to be highly commended for his exceptionally thorough examination of his subject. His research is quite remarkable as is evidenced by this book which held my attention although I am not Episcopalian (I am a Dissenter) nor do I have any association with South Carolina. For those who are Episcopalian or Anglican or do have connections with South Carolina this is a most excellent book.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. LawI was very glad to receive this book. I am very interested in Colonial American history (especially southern history). I have heard Dr. Louis P. Nelson make wonderful lectures regarding subjects on architecture and other items - his lectures were especially interesting and also the other articles written by him which I have had access to. This is a great book for anyone interested in these subjects.
