So far it has been a great read discovering new architects and designers all over the world. I feel that interviews are some of the best means we have to truly knowing an architect or designer who might be far out of grasp. This book brings all the personalities right to you!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Lots to Discover; Lots of FunBy JeremyI dont know much about contemporary architecture despite having a background in general design; I pursued a career in fashion instead and I stopped paying attention to the field after college. I discovered Pin-Up magazine a few years ago and was enthralled: At last; a magazine that could inform me about the new and notable in contemporary architecture but still give the glamour and humor I had become accustomed to from the fashion world. I wont pretend I dont need a bit of a show to keep my attention and Its no secret that the majority of magazines and books about architecture are dry and boring. Pin-Up defies this and with this new book of interviews the fun it promises is perfectly punctuated with a collection of fantastic reads. What I love most is that with each interview theres a whole new world to discover. Ive found myself taking notes; marking names and concepts I had never heard of; and then looking them up later for added discovery and intertainment. Id like to think; after reading this volume (I am taking my time with it; savoring each line) that I could hold my own with the most pretentious and authoritative of architecture fanatics. Or at the very least; I might be able to surprise them.I highly recommend this book for anyone with a mild to intense interest in general design; architecture; living spaces; furniture; art; style; or just good old-fashion shop-talk. And if you dont have an interest and know someone who does; itll make an amazing gift for the holidaze.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. truly inspiring readBy ✌☺Im not an architect!
