The repertoire is appropriate age-wise; though some of the texts may be a bit unusual to students. I thought the songs in the book in general had decent ranges for young singers. I have one student who has hearing problems and a limited range; there are several songs that are diatonic (easier for her) as well as in a good tessitura for this student.Regarding unusual texts...There is one song that is about how the little girl would have married her daddy if her mommy hadnt snatched him up; it is a sweet song designed to show the innocence of youth. Though maybe not appropriate for every student; how many little girls have said they loved their daddy and wanted to marry them? This is not much different from some of the other comical art songs that we sing in colleges today; like "The Green Dog"; or any of the others included in the college repertoire books. Depending upon the student; you may or may not like this song; but the good news is you have 35 more to choose from!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Lots of wonderful options of songs to choose from; its a great teaching tool for young students
