All the shawls look beautiful and I cant decide which one I want to knit first.The patterns are written out and I do not have to deal with charts if I dont want to. Yea!!!!! Each shawl has a name and a personal story that goes with it. (Think J. Peterman catalog!!). The helpful hints section in the beginning is very useful for knitters of all levels. It discusses yarn weights; basic shapes and construction; in addition to other helpful techniques. The book has very clear pictures of each project. There are photos of a model wearing the shawl as well as a picture of the shawl alone; laid flat; so that you can see its shape and structure very clearly.I think this book is a wonderful resource for lace knitters and I cant wait to begin a project!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Unique Lace PatternsBy SherylThis is a beautiful book with color photos of each shawl. It is not a book for beginners. Although there are several beginner patterns offered; they are not simple. The authors stories that are provided regarding the motive for each design are delightful. I would recommend this book to any accomplished lace knitter.
