Description

A triumph . . . the sort of ambitious American storytelling you find too rarely at the movies.-Michael Phillips; Chicago TribuneAcademy Awardreg; nominated writer and director Kenneth Lonergan has written a stirring drama that was called "extraordinarily ambitious" by Time and "a film of rare beauty and shocking gravity" by Rolling Stone. Delayed for 4 years in post-production; the film was finally released in 2011; with a directors cut following on DVD in 2012. Our edition will include the scripts of the full directors cut; along with an introduction and key tie-in art.Margaret is the story of a Manhattan teenager whose life is profoundly altered after witnessing a terrible accident. It is the extraordinary journey of an emotional teen who abides by her moral code and wants to set things right; but whose innocent ideals come crashing against the harsh realities of the adult world. It is a story of youth; love; the consequences of mistakes; and the fundamental questions of morality as faced by a teenager in an extraordinary situation.

Great arrangements in this songbookBy Page Turners OnlyWhew; this songbook is a tough one. I was excited to get right into playing the Married Life song first; and found it quite challenging. Each song I tried was more difficult than the last one I tried. It got to a point where I was flipping for one song; any song I could play without a bunch of mistakes; and when that didnt happen; I put the book aside to try again later. Each time I have sat down to play; I have played one page or two; made numerous mistakes; then flipped to another song; handing it over to my daughter who has more experience; to play the songs so I can hear how theyre supposed to sound; and even she struggled a bit; here and there.Dont get me wrong...Im not upset that the songs are too difficult; rather; Im challenged to learn them; because when played; as they are meant to be played; wow; they are amazing arrangements. This will be a keeper book for sure; but the songs Ill tackle line by line; when my patience is highest; until I can play them through; with ease; rather than frustration.23 of 23 people found the following review helpful. If this isnt a transcription its REAL closeBy A. SmithIf you are an experienced piano music consumer then their inevitably have been times that you have bought music in hopes that it would sound identical to what you heard on the movie; CD; play; etc. and then you get it home and are completely disgusted at the over-simplified interpretation of the arrangement. That is NOT the case with this piano book. If the music isnt identical to the soundtrack of the movie then it is REALLY close. If you liked the music in the movie and are an intermediate/advanced piano player then you will LOVE this book!!!!!!!! The only bad thing I can say about the book is that the pages are glossy which causes a glare in some lighting situations and can make it hard to read the music which truly is annoying and I dont know why publishers do this to piano books. Other than that this book is perfect.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Stiff SpineBy mrtimmccormackWhy do they make piano books with a stiff spine and not spiral bound? The music is great; a bit difficult to play but fun; but the book doesnt stay open the same way most piano books wont stay open. There really should be a change in the industry.
