Full of fresh speeches from Shakespeares plays; this is the ideal guide for actors of all ages and experience. As an actor at any level you are likely to be called upon to perform a speech from Shakespeare. A great deal will depend on your coming up with something fresh that is suited both to your particular performing skills and to the purposes of the audition. This is where this volume of The Good Audition Guides comes in.Drawing on his extensive experience as a theatre director and in drama training; Luke Dixon has chosen fifty monologues for female actors from across the whole of Shakespeares canon. Featured here are some of the very best-loved works (such as A Midsummer Nights Dream; Henry V and Hamlet) alongside many less well-known (and often more intriguing) speeches from plays like Loves Labours Lost and The Merchant of Venice. Each monologue is prefaced with a neat summary of the vital information you need to place the piece in context and to perform it to maximum effect and in your own unique way. The volume also features a user-friendly introduction on the whole process of selecting your speech; tackling Shakespeares language and approaching the audition itself.Sound practical advice for anyone attending an audition Teaching Drama Magazine on The Good Audition Guides.

Everything you wanted to know about Wyomings Outlaw Trail has been packaged with more than two hundred historic photographs and a lively narrative by cultural geographer Mac Blewer in Arcadia Publishings Images of America series. His prodigious research and attention to detail provide a comprehensive and reliable overview of this volatile and violent period in Wyomings past. Blewer outlines the various forces that led to the rise of the outlaws on the Outlaw Trail from the devastation of the winters of 1886 and 1887 to the Johnson County Invasion. Besides these background factors; Blewer offers us pictures of the inhospitable terrain appropriate for hiding out and treats us to sketches of the various "long riders" from Butch Cassidy and his younger brother; to women incarcerated for crimes ranging from arson and burglary to shooting a man in the throat. The thoroughness cant be beat as politicos and lawmen are not given a pass; and the end of the trail and the changing of the West are also up for discussion. A must for outlaw enthusiasts; those who love the West--Wyoming--and those sensitive to the way landscape affects an individual.Nancy Coggeshall; author of Gila Country Legend0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Wyoming through the best lensesBy CustomerThis pictorial/narrative of the famous Outlaw Trail through Wyoming is the story of the settlement of our West. It is a great commentary on what happened during the "cattle rustling" days into the train robbers; most notably Butch Cassidy the Sundance Kid. The biggest surprise in my household was my husbands interest when he realized there was a section on the firearms of the period - and was intrigued by the rest. Im happy to endorse the book written by my friend; more so I am thrilled with the flow and storytelling involved here. This book is one of the best reads of Wyoming during a turbulent period. I highly recommend it.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A must read!By Dan GilmoreHaving traveled through many of the "outlaw oases" and communities important to the horseback outlaws of old; I can say that this is a must have for anyone interested in 1880s and 1890s Wyoming. Readers will enjoy the cast of characters that Mac Blewer supplies and the settings in which they can be found- from the Red Desert to Hole in the Wall and Browns Park. I enjoyed Wyomings Outlaw Trail immensely and hope that others find this book as edifying and enjoyable as I did.
