Katherine Irelands new book; Katherine Ireland Timeless Interiors shows her genius with pattern and color. Every one of the eight homes showcased in this book give inspiration on color; fabric; and combining high and low; new and old. You feel as if you could just sink down into one of those cushy couches with a drink and relax. She brings what appear to be "big" rooms down to cozy proportions and the individuality of her clients shows through. She takes us from a lush red bedroom inspired by one in Italy to the homey comfort of french country. She really gets the Spanish California esthetic. Some of the homes are obviously done earlier in her career; but you can still come way with lots of great ideas from those. My personal favorite is the horse farm where the clients gave her cart blanch. She has included living rooms; dining rooms; kitchens; bathrooms; bedrooms; great rooms; pool houses; outdoor rooms; guest quarters; and even a stable. I love watching her on Million Dollar Decorators and now I can get my Katherine Ireland decorating "fix" anytime.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
