Killen nails it in this easy to read book. The pictures speak a thousand words and Killens narrations capture how citizens of Wisconsin are transformed into soldiers and are willing to make huge sacrifices for their State and Nation. This is a must read for anyone who serves the Wisconsin Army National Guard to capture the rich history of what it means to be a citizen/soldier. This book has inspired me to want to visit the Wisconsin Veterans Museum and dig deeper into the history of Wisconsin citizens/soldiers as they have been there for every conflict both foreign and domestic. I look forward to his next book. Enjoyed the photos and the pithy summaries that give insight into a local entitys great sacrifice. She was a member of the Wi National Guard; she; and my husband who was a member of the 32nd who was mobilized and went to Ft Lewis both thought the book outstanding. Some interesting history of the Wi National Guard.
